Latest Updates from Our Project:

Address changes closing
about 6 years ago – Mon, Feb 05, 2018 at 11:06:12 AM

A quick note for everyone today, as we move toward the final stage of the campaign. By now you should have received an email giving you 48 hours notice to change your address for the Kickstarter.

This isn't really a huge deal because, as you know, we're using BackerKit for the fulfillment and you will receive a separate survey, which will allow you to finalize your order and address. Be on the lookout for that tonight!

Proofs, BackerKit, Pre-Orders, and Fulfillment
about 6 years ago – Sat, Feb 03, 2018 at 11:22:48 AM

Hello, everyone. It's update time.

Proofs

It's been a busy few weeks! Since we last spoke, I have proofed all of the miniatures in all scales. This includes those being printed as well as those being cast. I'll include a smattering of pictures at the end of this update.

What this means is that we're good to go. The miniatures are up to snuff and ready to be put into production once we have the final numbers. In fact, I will probably order a big chunk of them before we finish everything out.

BackerKit

As you know, we'll be finalizing orders via BackerKit, and I've spent a lot of time in the last couple of weeks getting that ready for you. A couple of things will happen in the next few days:

  • You will receive a BackerKit survey
  • You will be able to finalize your pledge, change pledge levels, include more Add-Ons, and generally stock up on Alien Adventurer goodness
  • You will finalize your address and find out the shipping cost (less than $5 in almost all instances)
  • Any balance you owe will be collected
  • I'll start shipping you your goodies

If you get to the BackerKit and something doesn't seem right, just send me a message or shoot an email to [email protected] and we can sort it out. I have a ton of control over everything in the BackerKit system so I can tweak if needed.

You'll have around four weeks to finalize everything. The details of this will be in the email you get from BackerKit.

Pre-Orders

A cool thing about BackerKit is that it's not too late to get your friends and fellow gamers, collectors, and painters into the mix. If you know someone who might be very jealous of your cool new minis, have them sign up and order some of their own. They won't get ALL the great deals that were available to you as a Kickstarter backer, but I've kept the pre-order prices considerably below retail.

This may be your only shot at some or all of these miniatures. Aside from some deals made with retailers, I'm not at all sure that these minis will be offered again on any sort of regular basis. I'm looking at options, but at best I'd guess you're looking at not getting a chance at these again until the next Kickstarter, if and when that happens. Don't miss out!

Fulfillment

Once I get final orders and lock down addresses, I'll start to ship. This will happen very quickly, thanks to BackerKit and some lessons learned from the last campaign. Fulfillment is scheduled by May 2018, but I think we're going to beat that in almost all cases.

More to Come

I'll be back in touch about this and other great projects from Jason Richards Publishing. As always, I'm here to answer any questions or concerns you might have. Thanks for your support!

Some pictures:

32mm bases (set of three). These came out great and I highly recommend them. Great value and really completes the miniatures.

32mm Grim. 3D printing many of the figures allowed them to be provided without assembly required. The Mod Kit versions come broken down into pieces.

32mm Dru w/Mod Kit. The various versions of the Dru with the alternate arm and shields is probably the most detailed mini in the bunch.

54mm Grim. The 54mm miniatures are a great compromise between getting the detail of a large miniature and not breaking the bank. Will be so much fun to paint!

32mm "Scratch and Dent" Hollow Mage. There will be some imperfect versions of miniatures available as Add-Ons. Some are good for painting practice or replacement parts, or perfectly good for use at your table despite imperfections.

Look! Tusk casting masters!
over 6 years ago – Wed, Jan 17, 2018 at 11:23:19 AM

Hi everyone!

Just a quick update to share some pictures I just received from the caster. Here you see the metal masters of the Tusk that have been created for casting. These will be used to make the molds that will then be used to create the resin minis. Exciting! I should have the first "spin" of proofs in the next week or two.

I'm expecting the resin proofs of the rest of the miniatures to arrive on Friday for final review, then we'll get the Backerkit up and running so everyone can finalize their orders.

Hit me with any questions or comments you may have. Have a great day!

It's going to be a GREAT year!
over 6 years ago – Mon, Jan 01, 2018 at 11:20:37 AM

Happy New Year to you, my friends! 2018 is going to be a great one! Figured a good way to start is with an update.

I just this moment put in two orders that should have you all pretty excited. First is an order from the printer to send the 32mm Tusk and the 32mm base out to the caster for proof casting. He will use those 3D prints to create molds, metal masters, cast proofs, and then send those to me for final approval.

The second order was for the second round of proofs for the rest of the models that will be 3D printed for production. We've made some tweaks to the material type and to the models, themselves, after the first round of proofs. This will enhance their durability and make assembly easier.

Once all of the new proofs are in, I can take new pictures and finish setting up the Backerkit to finalize orders and charge for shipping. We'll be fulfilling in no time, then will get busy planning the next installment... ideas are already brewing.

Get in touch whenever and as often as you like. I'm always happy to assist you.

Quick question for backers
over 6 years ago – Thu, Dec 07, 2017 at 03:11:01 PM

For those of you who ordered miniatures without Mod Kits, would there be value for you to receive this miniature "no assembly required?" All of the pieces would be attached right out of the box. For the miniatures that are being 3D printed, this is an option with a little extra front end work from my side.

Only downside for anyone is that it effectively creates two product types for your final survey, so you would have to choose if you wanted your model assembled or disassembled. This would only be for the base models, and any models that come with Mod Kits would still come in "pieces." One extra step, but I think it could be worth it.

Thoughts?
